Mantra One Sandy Bay Road

• What did you like most?
  I had high expectation from Mantra. The location is good. The apartment was spacious, modern. There is a big refrigerator and lots of storage for food.
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  However, it did not meet my expectations for two reasons. I booked the property because it said it had cooking facilities. I also checked on Mantra Sandy B road's page which confirmed there should be cooking pots and utensils. But when we reached the apartment there was no cooker or any cooking pots or utensils. So we checked with the reception and I was told that they provide this on request. I showed them the website where it was not mentioned that these things come on requests. Anyway, we were given an electric stove, one cooking pot with lid and one frying pan. I was instructed to cook at a low heat and ensure no steam was accumulated because there was no hood in the kitchen and it could start the smoke alarm. It was a pathetic experience. I am a frequent traveler for work and stay at hotel apartments. This is the first time I have experienced something like this. I don't know why Mantra on Sandy Bay road does not have a kitchen hood installed. That's very basic. Also, the cutting board is from Queen Victoria's time. You should throw it away. Also we had to ask for detergents for the dishwasher for our stay. The second reason is the parking. Onsite parking is available upon booking. I booked for onsite parking in advance. There aren't enough parking spaces for all units and these are not marked. So whoever comes first can park in a desired place. We never got a good spot. We had to park in a spot right in front of the entry which is a tricky place as there is a trolley bay right behind it and then close to another parking spot where a 4WD was parked. We were driving a big car too. We then found another space in a corner but the car next to that spot was parked on the line and it was difficult to get our car in the desired spot. We complained at the reception, but the car was not moved an inch while we stayed. Again, I have never experienced this before. Usually onsite parking is free and has allocated space!

Well located but no apartment

  Very well located, nice staff, clean and tidy
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  It is offered as an apartment however it is not possible to cook as there is no heat source (only a microwave/grill). One of the bedrooms has no privacy. We were not able to solve our problem as there is no 24hrs service.
